Gladiators fall to Warner Robins in State Quarterfinals

The Clarke Central Gladiators fell to Warner Robins in the State AAAAA Football Quarterfinals 21-14.  The Gladiators finished the 2018 season 8-5.  Congratulations to the Senior Gladiators.

Gladiator Football Banquet Date Set

The 2018 Gladiator Football Banquet will be Sunday, December 16.  The banquet will be held at Athens First United Methodist Church from 2:00-4:00 pm.  The banquet will recognized and honor the 2018 JV and Varsity players and cheerleaders.  There is no charge for the banquet.

Gladiators Advance to State AAAAA Quarterfinals

The Clarke Central Gladiators defeated East Paulding 24-7 to advance to the State AAAAA Quarterfinals.  The Gladiators will play Warner Robins on Friday, November 23.  Kick-off will be at 7:30 in McConnell-Talbert Stadium.  The stadium address is 401 S. Gladiators Advanced to the Second Round of the State Play-offs

The Clarke Central Gladiators defeated Arabia Mountain 35-13 on Satuday and advanced to the Second Round of the State AAAAA Play-offs.  The Gladiators will host East Paulding on Friday, 11/16 at 7:30 pm in Billy Henderson Stadium.  All second round play-off tickets are $10 per GHSA.  You purchase your tickets online via GoFan at

Gladiators Recognized at National Football Foundation HOF Banquet

Two Gladiator seniors were recognized at the National Football Foundation Hall of Fame Banquet at the Athens Country Club on April 16, 2018.  The NFF promotes and develops the power of amatuer football in developing qualities of leadership, sportsmanship, competitive zeal and the drive for academic excellence in America's young people.  DJ Lester received the Play It Smart scholar-athlete $1000 scholarship.  DJ will play football at Shorter University next year.  Nicholas Sligh received one of five $1000 scholarships given to the top senior scholar-athlete football players in northeast Georgia.  Nicholas will play football for Yale University next year.

Gladiators Perform Community Service

The Clarke Central Football Team perform one of its annual Community Service activities on April 13 at the Salvation Army on Hawthorne Avenue. Gladiator players and coaches prepped the community garden area for planting.  The Gladiators have assisted with this task for five years.

The following Gladiator senior football players signed on National Signing Day to continue their playing career in college next year:
